Community Health    Through its Community Health Department, St.Martha’s Hospital has extended, well beyond its walls, the reach of its services to the sick and socially marginalized. The department functions in five slums in and around Bangalore, which has an aggregate population of roughly 10,000. The hospital also runs an extension counter at Uttarahalli, where health care services are extended to the slum dwellers. The Community health department also networks with other NGO’S. It runs the DOTS programme under the National Programme for TB Control at St.Martha’s Hospital.
